Quality control, OMET invests in technology

OMET is a guarantee of total quality, with no compromise, for the supply of simple wheels, pre-assembled units or complete handling systems. Quality control is one of the pillars on which OMET bases its reputation. In order to maintain the maximum level of guarantees for its customers, it is investing in new high-tech machinery and developing machines internally, which are “custom” designed for market needs.

The strict quality control procedures – together with the use of specific materials, customised production processes and great attention to research and development - allow OMET to stand out on the market for the high level of safety and performance of its products.

Recently, the company has invested in new control equipment: an electronic microscope with optical and digital magnification which, supported by native software, allows high-precision measurements to be taken directly on the images observed. The magnifications of this measuring instrument allow to directly observe the structure of the material, though not in measurable terms.

“Quality and customer satisfaction are undisputed priorities – explains Giovanna Maglia, OMET Sales Area Manager -. But what has always made the difference for OMET is the “customized” approach we adopt with each customer: our solutions are always studied ad hoc and the quality of our products is pursued in co-design and co-engineering with the technical departments of customers, also counting on the collaboration of renowned international research centres”.

With this in mind, OMET develops some quality control machines also internally: the last example is an equipment to generate impacts on the bearings in order to evaluate and compare the performances of plastics even with high intensity stresses, but within a short application time and with the constant focus on a specific point, which is chosen according to criteria that may vary based on the customer’s needs.

The company has also started focused procedures to guarantee the identification and traceability of its finished and semi-finished products throughout the entire production process, from the selection of raw materials to the final delivery. This offers  the customer the advantage of being able to receive a product whose production process has been regularly traced and, at the same time, it offers him/her a powerful investigation tool in case of anomaly. By acting in a targeted manner on production sub-batches, you can achieve a beneficial effect in terms of management costs
