In order to create future-oriented products and to provide increasingly efficient solutions, innovation can only start from the materials. With the purpose of guaranteeing the most advanced skills on the market, OMET Systems in Motion has chosen to collaborate with ITL - Italian Technology Lab, a materials engineering company that was founded in 2012 as innovative start-up and spin-off of the University of Brescia.
The partnership was founded on the basis of the ITL skills in order to develop, improve and optimize the process parameters of components based on polymeric and elastomeric materials. The fruitful collaboration between the two companies, which has been going on for a few years, led to excellent results consisting of more efficient and performing products, thanks to a mix of skills and professionalism.
“As university researchers and independent consultants, we associate scientific rigor with the flexibility that industry needs in order to succeed in innovative or highly competitive sectors” explains Professor Giorgio Ramorino, researcher in Science and Technology of Materials and CEO of ITL.
During these years, as explained by Ramorino, “studies have been carried out with OMET in respect to the search for innovative materials, to the optimisation of both single-cavity and multi-cavity mould, to the processing of flow analysis, to the definition of the best process parameters and to the structural analysis simulations aimed at validating and verifying the behaviour in operation of products such as bearings, wheels or various sliding systems”.
The result of this partnership are innovations in the field of plastics and new materials that continue to increase the performance of OMET Systems in Motion products and handling solutions. From the study of materials to the development of prototypes, tests, surveys and improvements, the collaboration with institutes such as ITL expands the design capability and the technical competence which OMET Systems in Motion can offer to all its own customers.
“The collaboration with organisations linked to the world of research creates positive synergies – says Paolo Spreafico, OMET Area Sales Manager - and allows us to satisfy the most demanding requests with a continuous process of improvement, by identifying the most suitable solution for the customer in terms of quality, performance, functionality and costs”.
